West Ham United are reportedly still interested in signing former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Premier League outfit, who defeated league champions Chelsea 2-1 last weekend, were in the running to sign the Togo international during the summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old, who has also played for Arsenal and Manchester City in the English top-flight, scored 42 goals in over 100 appearances for Spurs since 2011.

However Adebayor, who was released from his contract at White Hart Lane only last month, scored just two goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for the North London outfit last season.

It is understood that the Hammers also face competition from Aston Villa for the free agent.
