West Ham travel to Burnley on Sunday (3pm kick-off) looking to end a frustrating Premier League campaign on a high.
Slaven Bilic’s men have struggled to replicate their stunning seventh finish from last season this time round, with the Hammers currently sat 12th in the table and with a highest possible finishing position of ninth going into the final round of fixtures.
The move to the London Stadium as well as the departure of star man Dimitri Payet in January haven’t helped matters, nor has the form of their forwards, with Andy Carroll their top-scoring striker with just seven league goals – that’s come from just 18 appearances.
So it’s hardly a surprise that they’ve been linked with a move for Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho in recent times, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium under Pep Guardiola.
The 20-year-old has managed just five Premier League starts this term but has netted four times in his 509 minutes of league action, and news of a potential move for the Nigeria international has stimulated quite the response from several West Ham fans on Twitter.
The majority of them would certainly welcome a deal for the forward, and are hoping that it will indeed come to fruition during the summer…

@UberWestHam @ExWHUemployee Far better option than Callierli. Even if only a loan

@djleon1983 @UberWestHam @ExWHUemployee We shouldnt be interested, we should chase him as hard as we did Bacca last summer #1 target

@WHUFCFZ @Irons_Home @ExWHUemployee We should aim for players like Iheanacho this Summer; quick, scores regularly, experience in PL, plays and scores for Nigeria all at only 20

Need to go all out to try and get Iheanacho. I doubt it though since west ham have no ambition

Yet some played down any expectation of a deal for the 20-year-old…
