West Ham United have made an offer for Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri, according to reports.

As per Fabrizio Romano, The Hammers have launched a bid, believed to be worth around £13 million, for the Italian.

The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at French side Lyon and impressed in Ligue 1, but is unlikely to be given many opportunities for Thomas Tuchel’s side this term.

The Blues have Ben Chilwell returning from injury after missing much of last season and have also recently signed Marc Cucurella from Brighton, with the pair almost certain to be Tuchel’s two first choice options at left wing-back.

Marcos Alonso is expected to leave the club in the coming weeks, but Kenedy could be kept as his versatility makes him a useful squad option.

Romano also claims that Chelsea have already rejected a loan offer from French side Nice last month for Emerson, as owner Todd Boehly is only interested in allowing the Italy international to leave permanently.

Emerson, who joined Chelsea from Roma in 2018, has 71 appearances for the club including 33 in the Premier League.
