West Ham look like missing out on the signing of Mario Mandzukic.
According to a report on talkSPORT the Juventus striker is close to signing a new contract despite playing out of position most of this season.
Fellow Croat Slaven Bilic was ready to offer the 30-year-old the chance to play at centre forward next season but now it seems certain that Mandzukic will sign a new deal in Turin.
After spells with Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juve Mandzukic seems to be the perfect fit for West Ham as Bilic attempts to impose a new style of play at the London Stadium.
West Ham have been involved in a wide ranging search to bring in new strikers with Mandzukic offering exactly the type of play required.
Bilic does have serious money to spend on a striker during the summer with Daniel Sturridge and Michy Batshuayi among his other targets.
