Slaven Bilic’s West Ham are willing to offer Manchester City outcast Joe Hart a Premier League lifeline this summer, according to The Sun.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Serie A side Torino after being made a surplus to requirements by new City boss Pep Guardiola, in which time he started 36 of their 38 league games to help the club to ninth place in the Italian top-flight.
However, the England international will not be returning to Turin next season and thus is on the lookout for a new club, even more so following City’s £35 million signing of Benfica shot-stopper Ederson in recent weeks, and it appears that Hart may well be staying in the Premier League after all.
That’s because reports suggest that Bilic’s West Ham are ready to offer him a top-flight lifeline this summer, as the Hammers look to strengthen their ranks after a below-par campaign last time out.
The East London outfit laboured to an 11th place finish in the Premier League, and their tally of 64 goals against was the sixth highest in the division to underline their defensive frailties.
And with neither Adrian nor Darren Randolph nailing down the number one jersey, a move for two-times Premier League winner Hart makes complete sense as Bilic looks to take the team back up the table, and near their stunning seventh place finish in the 2015/16 campaign.
It has been reported that the Hammers will match his wage demands on a season-long loan deal, before making the move permanent next summer, but whether City will sanction such offer for the £11.05 million-rated shot-stopper (as per Transfermarkt) very much remains to be seen.
