West Ham United are reportedly lining up a move for Liverpool flop Fabio Borini.

It is understood that the Hammers are set to hijack Fiorentina’s move for the Reds striker, despite the Italian outfit agreeing a fee for the player earlier this week.

Borini, who became boss Brendan Rodgers’ first signing at Anfield back in 2012, scored just one goal in 18 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool last season.

The Italian forward, who has one international cap, enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Premier League rivals Sunderland during the 2013-14 campaign, scoring ten goals for the Black Cats in all competitions.

New West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is thought to be desperate to bolster his attacking options at the Boleyn Ground ahead of the close of the transfer window, with strikers Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia currently sidelined.
