West Ham United will reportedly make a move for Spain international star Cesc Fabregas during the forthcoming January transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who hover just one point above the relegation zone following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Stoke City, have been linked with a loan move to lure the midfielder from Chelsea.

The 29-year-old, who has won the FIFA World Cup and two UEFA European Championships with Spain, has scored two goals and provided two assists in six appearances in all competitions for The Blues so far this season.

Fabregas, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from La Liga giants FC Barcelona back in June 2014, is out of favour under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte this term and could seek first-team action elsewhere.

The report suggests that The Blues are willing to subside the Spaniard’s hefty £160,000-a-week wages in order to offload him in the new year.
