West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing England international Danny Drinkwater, according to the Telegraph.

The Premier League side, who host Stoke City at the London Stadium on Monday night, have been linked with a summer swoop for the Chelsea midfielder.

The 28-year-old, who has three international caps for the Three Lions, has scored one goal in 22 appearances in all competitions for the defending league champions this season.

Drinkwater, who arrived at Stamford Bridge back in September 2017 following his £35m switch from Leicester City, has grown frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte during his debut campaign, having started just five league games.

The report claims West Ham hold an interest in snapping up the central midfielder this summer, with the player due to weigh up his future with The Blues at the end of the season after failing to make much of an impact at the London outfit.

Chelsea would look to recoup most, if not all, of what they paid for Drinkwater last summer, having tied him down to a five-year contract, but he is valued at £18m by transfermarkt.
