West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Italy international forward Manolo Gabbiadini, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via HITC Sport).

The Premier League side, who finished seventh in the English top-flight standings last term during boss Slaven Bilic’s first campaign in charge, have been linked with the Napoli striker.

The 24-year-old; who has six international caps for his country, but was not included in Italy’s 23-man squad for this summer’s EURO 2016 Championships, scored nine goals and provided three assists in 30 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit last season.

Gabbiadini, who only joined Napoli back in January 2015 from Italian rivals Sampdoria, is valued at around the £21m mark.

However, the report suggests that the Hammers are unwilling to meet the club’s demands for the forward’s services, despite West Ham’s pursuit of a new striker becoming rather desperate.

The Londoners have already been rebuffed in their efforts to sign Michy Batshuayi, who has instead agreed a switch to Chelsea, meanwhile Lyon have rejected their offers for France international Alexandre Lacazette.
