Twenty-sixteen has seemingly gone begging. Yet another year is set to pass where the Gunners have failed to win the Premier League title since the “Invincibles” lifted the trophy aloft back in 2003-04.
Arsenal; who currently sit third in the English top-flight standings, but a mighty 12 points adrift of surprise league leaders Leicester City with only six games remaining of the 2015-16 campaign, are destined to fall short in their mission to finish top of the pile.
Arsene Wenger’s side have only managed to collect 20 points from a possible 39 on offer throughout 2016 so far – unarguably not title-winning form from the Emirates Stadium outfit – with the Gunners falling behind the fairytale Foxes after devastating defeats to the likes of Manchester United and Swansea City back in February and March.
Their most recent result, an enthralling 3-3 draw at top-four chasing West Ham United, has all but nailed the coffin on Arsenal’s faint title hopes, although the Gunners will still be doubly determined to finish above North London rivals Tottenham in the standings by the end of next month.
