Who are the top-10 highest earning players in the Premier League?

We know that the Premier League players of today are not short of a few quid.

The money that has been pumped into the league through multi-billion pound sponsorship and tv broadcasting deals is staggering and something the most optimistic person would not have been able to predict prior to the rebrand in 1992.

Top-flight giants such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have some huge earners on their books.

But do you actually know which players are paid the most to do their thing in England’s top-flight.

Well, we’ve done the work for you and compiled a list of the top-10 highest earners (all figures according to spotrac.com) in the Premier League….

10. Harry Kane – £200,000 per-week

The England captain is the only Spurs player on the list but if there was one rightly deserving of being the North London club’s highest earner it’s him. The superstar striker has bagged 136 Premier League goals in just 198 matches. At £200,000 per-week, hitting the back of the net certainly pays the bills.

– Marcus Rashford – £200,000 per-week

Taking home the same amount of bacon as Kane is his England strike partner Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United forward penned his latest contract in the summer of 2019.  Having made over 200 appearances for the Red Devils it’s easy to forget that he’s still only 22 and that there is plenty more to come.

– Mohamed Salah – £200,000 per-week

Just like Kane and Rashford, Liverpool superstar Mo Salah is also banking a cool £200,000 per week. The Egypt international has been a revelation since signing from Roma in the summer of 2017, scoring 70 Premier League goals in 100 games. With Salah in their forward line, the Reds have won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup and, when the season resumes, they’ll secure their first ever Premier League title.

7. Sergio Aguero – £230,135 per-week

At number seven is one of – if not – the greatest goalscorer the Premier League has ever seen. Signed from Atletico Madrid in for around £35million (now a bargain!) in 2011, Aguero has since made himself a Man City legend. The Argentine is the club’s all-time leading scorer with 254 goals to date and has helped the club win four Premier League titles. No true city fan would begrudge him his £230,135 per week.

6. Anthony Martial – £250,000 per-week

The second but not the last Manchester United player on the list is striker Anthony Martial. Not always the most consistent but, on his day, the Frenchman can be unplayable. Since signing for the Red Devils from Monaco in 2015, Martial has registered 45 Premier League goals in 136 matches and he’s still just 24 years of age. With a £250,000 per week wage it’s clear that Old Trafford side certainly see him as a key player.

5. Mesut Ozil – £268,750 per-week

A frustration or a genius? Mesut Ozil is a bit like Marmite – you’re either a fan or you’re not. One thing that cannot be argued with is the German’s ability to execute a pass others wouldn’t even dream of making. Since signing for Arsenal in 2013 from Real Madrid, he’s registered 33 Premier League goals and 54 assists. These kind of numbers and his playmaking ability is why the Gunners made him their highest earner in January 2018 on +£268,000 per week.

4. Paul Pogba – £290,000 per-week

Another player who splits opinion is Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. A talent who has everything the modern-day player would hope but the Frenchman has not always lived up to high expectations since his then world-record £89million transfer from Juventus in 2016. That earned him £290,000 per-week and the World Cup winner has since scored 24 Premier League goals and produced 25 assists in 99 games.

3. Raheem Sterling – £300,000 per-week

After a tricky first season at Man City, many questioned whether the club had made the right decision signing Raheem Sterling from Liverpool for £50million. But fast forward to the current day and cannot say they didn’t make the right call. The England star has come on leaps and bounds under Pep Guardiola, helping the club win two Premier League titles. Goalscoring wise, the 25-year-old has notched 35 top-flight goals in the past two seasons and has 11 so far this term. This sees him in bronze medal position with a weekly wage of £300,000.

2. Kevin De Bruyne – £320,833 per-week

Just ahead of Sterling is his Man City teammate Kevin De Bruyne. Simply one of the best players in the Premier League, the Belgian is a real all-rounder in midfield. Having failed to make the grade at Chelsea, he moved to Germany where, after impressing with Wolfsburg, City gave him his opportunity back in England. Since that switch in 2015 the now 29-year-old has taken the league in his stride, scoring 31 goals and producing 62 assists in a spell in which he’s helped City lift the trophy twice.

1. David de Gea – £375,000 per-week

Unusually, the top earner in the Premier League is not an outfield player, it’s a goalkeeper. Like most stoppers, David de Gea has had his struggles in recent times but having put in numerous world-class performances since moving to Old Trafford in 2011, he can be forgiven for a few mistakes. The Spaniard has been named in the PFA Team of the Year five times, won one Premier League title and kept 108 clean sheets in 304 top-flight matches. So how much does a pair of safe hands cost? £375,000 per-week if you ask United.
