Watford captain Troy Deeney had led by example in an impressive campaign for the Hornets.
Before the season started, many pundits predicted that Watford would be one of the favourites for relegation, but instead they are just four points away from the ‘magic 40’ with a dozen games to go.
Much of that fine form has been down to the incredible form of strike duo Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, with the pair scoring 22 of their side’s 29 goals so far this term.
Those goals have dried up slightly since the turn of 2016, but Deeney did net both of the Hornets’ goals in their 2-1 win at Crystal Palace last weekend.
Situated just five points behind Manchester United in fifth and with little pressure on their shoulders, Watford and their skipper can enjoy the final 12 games, and it could be a fairytale ending to a terrific campaign.
