Why this Premier League winner should turn his back on Chelsea and join West Ham in January

West Ham are rumoured to be strongly interested in signing Cesc Fabregas on loan this January to add that extra bit of magic to their team ahead of the Premier League run-in.

With new signing N’Golo Kante and Serbia international Nemanja Matic holding down the two central midfield sports in Conte’s3-4-3 with a series of powerful displays, Fabregas’ appearances have been limited. The Spaniard has fallen victim to the change in formation having only appeared in four of the 12 Premier League games so far this season.

West Ham have only scored 13 goals in 12 Premier League games and are screaming out for a creator and scorer of goals like Fabregas. Other than Payet, who is one of the top chance creators in Europe’s top 5 leagues yet again this season, West Ham have pretty much no one contributing on a regular basis in the final third.

With Fabregas’ future very much up in the air, here are THREE reasons why he should ditch the Bridge for the season and head East to the London Stadium.

He’ll be the main man

Other than Payet no one at West Ham comes close to matching the technical quality of Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard has the ability to become the fulcrum of this West Ham side, a player who when he plays well, West Ham win, and who’s teammates give him the ball at every opportunity.

Fabregas helped himself to a remarkable 18 assists during Chelsea’s title winning 2014-15 season and has over the years proven himself to be a reliable performer in England, with last year the only blemish on an otherwise outstanding Premier League career.

You would fancy the Spaniard to excel in a West Ham side who would build the team around him as they look to drive themselves up the table this year.

Could force his way back into Conte’s plans

There’s no doubt about it, Fabregas is out-of-favour at Stamford Bridge this season, having only made four appearances in the Premier League.

Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante seem to have locked down the two central midfield roles in Conte’s 3-4-3 formation, forming a strong and energetic partnership.

Chelsea are flying at the moment and are currently on a seven match winning-streak in the league, scoring 17 goals and conceding just once in the process. With the Londoners playing so well it’s hard to imagine Fabregas breaking into the side and getting meaningful minutes anytime soon.

At West Ham he could be playing Premier League football week-in week-out, showcasing his talents to Conte, and reminding him just how dangerous he can be with a football at his feet. Fabregas has proven himself over the years to be an extremely effective Premier League player and would fancy his chances of grabbing Conte’s attention with telling performances for West Ham.

Fabregas may have his eye on a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer and regular minutes at West Ham could see him gain a bigger move for what could be one of the last significant contracts of his career.

If he performs at West Ham to the level he has in all his Premier League years barring last season then it’s highly likely that there will be a lot of interest in the Spaniard in the summer.

The alternative for Fabregas is to hang around at Chelsea waiting for a chance that may never materialise. He should be taking the situation by the scruff of the neck by tearing up trees in the second half of the season for West Ham, reminding everyone just how good he is in the process.
