With the season currently up in the air, we name the four players Manchester United could sell this summer.

During his time at Old Trafford, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has consistently stated that he is overseeing a rebuilding project at Manchester United.

That of course, means new players in, which he has shown with the signings of Bruno Fernandes and the summer acquisitions of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.

But that statement also means letting some players leave the United squad, so we have named the four players we believe could exit the club this summer.

Juan Mata

Mata joined United from Chelsea during the David Moyes era back in January 2014 and is well-loved by the United faithful.

However, the Spaniard’s playing time has been somewhat limited in recent seasons, never really getting a decent run in the side.

We feel this could be his last few months in a United shirt, as the club may wish to attempt to cash-in, with the 31-year-old’s contract up in 2021.

Phil Jones

In the summer will mark nine years since Phil Jones arrived from nearby Blackburn Rovers. And despite enjoying some success with United, Jones has not been a first-team regular for some time.

Unfortunately his United career has been plagued with injuries and despite signing a new deal last season, the former England international is not hugely liked by the fans.

Jesse Lingard

Who would have thought it just 18 months ago. Lingard was one of United’s most influential players during a fantastic run of form from 2017-2019.

His creative play, energy and eye for a goal also made him a key member of Gareth Southgate’s England team.

However, Lingard’s form has dipped, not returning a single Premier League goal for United in the whole of 2019.

Andreas Pereira

Despite interest from clubs in Italy and Spain, Solskjaer decided to hold on to Pereira last summer.

The Brazil international has got more game time than ever this campaign, but sadly for him, just hasn’t been able to contribute as much as he would like.

However, with the injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, Pereira can expect more game time in a United shirt and still has time to prove himself.
