Wolves identify Ligue 1’s ‘Cinderella Man of French football’ as Benik Afobe’s replacement

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified Morocco international Yacine Bammou as their ideal replacement for Benik Afobe, according to Talksport.

The Championship side, who sold their top goalscorer for a reported £10m to Premier League side AFC Bournemouth last week, want the Nantes hitman to replace the ex-Arsenal forward at Molineux this month.

The 24-year-old, who has three international caps to his name, has scored four league goals in 18 apearances for the Ligue 1 outfit this season.

Kenny Jackett’s side, who currently sit tenth in the league standings, are plotting a January move for the Paris-born Moroccan who is also named as the ‘Cinderella Man of French football’.

His nickname follows on from his remarkable journey into professional football after working for Paris Saint-Germain in their club shop just three years ago.
