Bayern Munich and Germany star, Manuel Neuer has called for Man United manager Jose Mourinho to turn to out-of-favour midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger, in order to pull the Red Devils out of their dip.

The 20 time English champions were humiliated by Mourinho’s former side, Chelsea, on Sunday who hit them for four without answer in the late kick-off.

“I really hope that Bastian gets some consideration soon,” said Neuer of his former teammate.

The 32-year-old has been resigned to extra training on his own in a bid to remain match fit having been completely frozen out by the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss.

“We all know he’s one of the best midfielders in the world,” the German shot-stopper continued.

“He belongs on the field for Manchester United and not training individually.”

Mourinho is seemingly yet to settle on his best XI, especially when it comes to the midfield as he looks to find the best system to suit the style of world-record signing, Paul Pogba.

The former Germany international, who retired after his side were knocked out of the European Championships in the semi-finals this summer, has been linked with a move to the MLS in recent weeks, having not featured for United since March.
