AFC Bournemouth are reportedly scouting League Two starlet Conor Chaplin ahead of the upcoming January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who currently sit 13th in the English top-flight standings after their opening 11 league games, are monitoring Portsmouth’s highly-rated forward following an array of impressive performances this term.

The 19-year-old, who came through Pompey’s youth ranks, has scored five goals and provided two assists in 17 appearances in all competitions for Paul Cook’s side so far this season.

Chaplin, who has helped Portsmouth climb up to fourth spot in League Two, is also said to be attracting interest from Championship trio Fulham, Ipswich Town and Queens Park Rangers.

The skillful forward is contracted to the Fratton Park outfit until the summer of 2019 after putting pen to paper on a new deal only last month.

Having graduated through their academy in 2014, Chaplin has scored 17 goals in 64 appearances for Portsmouth overall.
