In a season that’s seen Sunderland rooted to the bottom of the Premier League for much of the campaign, you wouldn’t expect to see many of the top clubs showing an interest in any of David Moyes’ players, but goalkeeper Jordan Pickford seems to be the exception, according to reports in the Daily Star.

The 22-year-old is one of the few Sunderland players who’s been attracting attention from some of the league’s biggest sides with Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Manchester City all reported to be monitoring his situation at the Stadium of Light very closely.

Arsenal and City seem the more likely candidates; at the Emirates Stadium, Petr Cech is 34-years-old and has been dropped in the Champions League in favour of David Ospina, while at the Etihad Stadium, Claudio Bravo has struggled since moving from FC Barcelona, while Joe Hart has done well on loan at Torino, but doesn’t seem to be part of Pep Guardiola’s plans, with Willy Caballero not viewed as a long-term option.

Much depends on whether Sunderland stay up, but if they don’t, expect Pickford to be a name linked with several clubs this summer.
