Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing France international forward Alexandre Lacazette, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings after pipping North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the runners-up spot on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign, are ready to try and lure the Lyon striker to the Emirates Stadium.

The 25-year-old, who has 10 international caps for his country but missed out on France’s 23-man squad for EURO 2016 this summer, scored an impressive 23 goals and provided four assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit this season.

Lacazette, who has three years left on his current deal with the French side, is said to be rated at around £45m.

The report suggests that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will meet the representatives of the French ace to discuss a potential summer transfer, after Arsenal missed out on England and Leicester City star Jamie Vardy last week.

Premier League rivals West Ham United were also interested in the forward’s services, but have pulled out of the running to sign him after believing Lacazette was set to join Paris Saint-Germain instead.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested too.
