Aston Villa are favourites to sign Abraham

Aston Villa are favourites to sign Tammy Abraham for next season.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail the Chelsea striker is likely to be sent out on loan again next season with Villa and Middlesbrough joint favourites to sign the 19-year-old.

Abraham has had an outstanding season on loan at Bristol City but isn’t yet of the standard to be competing for a first team place at Stamford Bridge.

With Villa among the favourites for promotion next season the young England striker would get a different Championship challenge to the one that he has excelled in at Ashton Gate.

Steve Bruce still has a big squad to juggle with and is unlikely to be in the market to buy a new striker for next season having spent £10m on Scott Hogan in January.

Bringing in Abraham on loan would appear to suit both clubs with only the player still to decide whether he wants to switch to the Midlands next season.
