Liverpool are reportedly interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta.

The Reds have been put on high alert after the 32-year-old, who joined the Ligue 1 champions from Inter Milan back in 2012, admitted he was open to a move away from the French capital before the close of the transfer window.

Motta, who has 23 international caps for Italy, failed to score in 38 appearances in all competitions for Laurent Blanc’s PSG last season.

It is understood that the central midfielder is frustrated at the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisting he is not for sale, with Motta adding: “I respect what the president has said, even if I don’t agree with him.

“The transfer window is open. We’re going to see – I’m open to every situation.”
