Chelsea have completed the signing of Brazil international defender David Luiz.

The Premier League side, who defeated Burnley 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to preserve their 100% English top-flight record so far this term, have pulled off one of the latest and most surprising deals of the 2016 summer transfer window by re-signing the Paris Saint-Germain defender on deadline day.

The 29-year-old, who has 55 international caps for his country, already featured four times in all competitions this season under new boss Unai Emery at the Parc des Princes – helping PSG defeat SC Bastia and FC Metz in their opening two Ligue 1 fixtures.

Luiz, who became the world’s most expensive defender of all-time after joining PSG from the Blues back in June 2014 in a deal worth up to £50m, has returned to Stamford Bridge tonight in a deal thought to be worth £30m (according to Sky Sports).

The Brazilian scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 142 games for Chelsea between 2011 and 2014 following his €25m switch from Portuguese giants Benfica.
