Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with the club, despite interest from European giants Barcelona and Premier League rivals, Man City.

The full-back announced the new deal himself via a video on the club’s Twitter page.

The Spain international’s extension will reportedly keep him at The Emirates until 2023, and will see his wage rise to £100,000-a-week.

The former Barcelona youngster had been linked with a move back to the Catalan club, as well as a switch to join former Barca boss Pep Guardiola at Man City.

The 21-year-old made the move to North London from the Catalan club in 2011 and has become one of the first names on Arsene Wenger’s team sheet in recent seasons, making the right-back berth entirely his own.

Bellerin had not missed a single minute of Premier League action for the Gunners this season, until a challenge late-on in the North London derby from Spurs’ Danny Rose forced him to miss the clash with Man United on Saturday.
