Everton and Tottenham line-up New Year moves for Italy international

Everton and Tottenham have joined the race to sign Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia.

The Premier League duo, plus arch-rivals AC Milan, are interested in bringing in the Italy international during the January transfer window after falling down the pecking order under former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.

The 27-year-old, who has 20 international caps to his name, has mustered just 71 minutes of Serie A action so far this season at Inter.

Ranocchia is deemed surplus to requirements at the San Siro after being stripped of the captaincy over the summer.
