Name: Ross Barkley
Position: Midfielder
Goal: EVERTON vs Watford – August 8, 2015

Up at Goodison Park; it has very much been the Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley show, so there is little surprise that our Everton Goal of the Season, so far, has been awarded to one of these stars.

But it is the England international who scoops up this imaginary award following his and the club’s very first Premier League strike of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 22-year-old; who is tipped to star for England in this summer’s Euro 2016 in France, has enjoyed his most fruitful spell with the Toffees this term, scoring an impressive 12 goals and providing 10 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for Roberto Martinez’s men.

However it was his exquisite effort on the opening day of the season that caught everyone’s eye.

Trailing 1-0 to newly promoted Watford after 76 minutes; Arouna Kone gently rolled back Seamus Coleman’s cross on the edge of the 18-yard area, straight into the path of the central midfielder and there was only one thing on Barkley’s mind – that top right-hand corner.

The England ace drew the hosts level with a blockbuster hit that flew past Hornets goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and helped the Toffees salvage a 2-2 draw.
