West Ham fans have been pining for a big name striker for years now, especially after the debacle that was Simone Zaza last summer, but they may be set to have their prayers answered this time around.

The Hammers, for a while now, have been linked with a move for Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic, who was playing in the Old Lady’s triumphant 3-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

One man in the stands at the Juventus Stadium on the night was former Besiktas Director of Football, Onder Ozen, who seemed to have a very clear idea of there the Croatian will be next season.

“Mario Mandzukic will not be at Juventus next season. He will go to West Ham United,” said Ozen.

The Champions League winner has played in all positions across the front line for the Italian giants this season, scoring seven goals in 38 outings in all competitions this season.

Whilst seven is not the greatest return for striker who could well be the marquee signing at the London Stadium this summer, it would be wise to bear in mind that the Hammers top scorer so far this term is Michail Antonio on just nine.
