So far the surprise package of the season, the Tigers have shown after their opening two games that, despite the doubts over their squad, they can be competitive this year.

Although it is still early days, Mike Phelan’s team have shown spirit and determination to make a promising start to the new campaign, finding themselves third in the Premier League table.

Hull will be looking to add to their squad with the time remaining in the transfer window, however in the meantime they will be hoping that Uruguayan forward Abel Hernandez can be amongst the goals to keep their fine start alive.

Fresh from their 3-1 away win at Exeter in the EFL Cup, Phelan’s men are unlikely to roll over easily to Manchester United on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s outfit approach the fixture with confidence after their successive wins over Bournemouth and Southampton.

The Red Devils have looked convincing in both games and pose a threat in front of goal through new acquisition Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Likewise, Paul Pogba will be keen to continue his bright start after his debut last week as he looks to prove his worth after his £89 million transfer from Juventus.

Team News:

Alex Bruce, Allan McGregor, Michael Dawson and Moses Odubajo all have long-term injuries and aren’t set to feature for Mike Phelan’s side for some time.

Apart from that, there are no fresh injury concerns.

Mourinho, on the other hand, has a full squad to choose from for Saturday’s game with no new problems to overcome this week.
