Manchester United have been linked with a whopping world record raid for England international forward Harry Kane, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who finished sixth in the 2016-17 English top-flight campaign, but qualified for the UEFA Champions League after defeating Ajax in the UEFA Europa League final last month, could be set to test Tottenham Hotspur’s resolve over their star striker this summer.

The 23-year-old, who has 19 international caps for the Three Lions, scored 35 goals and provided seven assists in just 38 appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season, who finished as runners-up to eventual Premier League champions Chelsea.

Kane, who has been at the North London outfit for the entirety of his senior career, has remarkably netted 99 goals in just 165 games for Tottenham overall.

The report suggests Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho wants his bosses to splash out up to £100m in a bid to lure the striker to Old Trafford ahead of the 2017-18 term, surpassing the previous world record set by United when they stumped up £89m to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer.
