Arsenal leaped above Manchester United into fifth place in the Premier League with their win over Southampton in the week, showing a level of grit and character that hasn’t been seen by Gunners fans for some time to come out after a poor first half and take all three points.

With that win putting the pressure on the top four, manager Arsene Wenger will be looking to keep their winning run going when they visit Stoke City tomorrow, and he will be hoping to recall a key member of the first team squad.

French international Laurent Koscielny missed the clash with Southampton due to a calf injury, but could be back at the Bet365 Stadium this weekend.

Speaking ahead of their trip to face Mark Hughes’ side, Wenger said:

“[Koscielny has] got a small chance, he was not far [for Southampton] he practised yesterday (Tuesday) but it was risky to play him.”

Koscielny has played a key role for the Gunners this season, however, if he is not available Wenger will have been encouraged by the performances of Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding and Nacho Monreal in a three at St. Mary’s.
