Liverpool and Spurs chase Ligue 1 playmaker

Liverpool and Tottenham are both reportedly eyeing moves for Ligue 1 star Sofiane Boufal.

The Premier League duo, who currently sit ninth and fifth in the standings respectively after their opening 13 league games, are chasing the Lille midfielder ahead of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old, who only arrived at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy earlier this year from Angers, has scored four goals in 12 league appearances for the French top-flight outfit so far this season.

Boufal, who is eligible to represent Morocco at international level; despite being born in Paris, is also attracting interest from Ligue 1’s defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, who hope to sway him from the Reds’ and Spurs’ grasp with the lure of Champions League football.
