Liverpool are heading into what could be their most crucial summer in years as Jurgen Klopp looks to make a mark on Europe’s top table with his side next season.

A win against already relegated Middlesbrough this Sunday will seal Champions League football next season, however, having had just domestic duties to worry about this term a lot of business will need to be done before August to prepare a squad capable of competing on all fronts.

Things look to be starting well for manager Jurgen Klopp, though, with reports from The Independent claiming that the club are confident of landing deals for two top defensive targets in the coming months.

A real bug-bare for those on Merseyside this season has been the left-back slot, with versatile midfielder James Milner filling the berth for most of the campaign. However, Klopp is now moving to solve the problem with not just one, but two addition left-backs in the summer market.

They come in the former of Fulham’s 17-year-old sensation Ryan Sessegnon, who can also play a more attacking role down the left-wing, and relegated Hull City’s Andrew Robertson.

The duo would certainly add some depth to Klopp’s side, although with both untested in the upper echelons of the Premier League and Europe, fans may want someone a little more experienced.
