Liverpool have reportedly joined a number of Premier League clubs in the race to sign £22m-rated Leicester City midfielder, N’Golo Kante, according to the Daily Star.

The 25-year-old was one of the key players as the Foxes pulled off an incredible Premier League title win this season, and a number of teams, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham have all since expressed an interest in the Frenchman.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are also in contention, as the German looks to strengthen a squad that could only muster an eighth-placed finish in the English top flight, meaning they have no European football to look forward to next term.

Kante, who starred for France in their 2-1 win against Romania at Euro 2016 on Friday night, moved to the King Power Stadium for £5.6m from Caen last summer, with his release clause said to be set at more than four times that fee.
