He has been one of the best players in European football so far this season, and Liverpool look to be ready to spend big on him – his name is Alex Teixeira.

The Shakhtar Donetsk forward has been in scintillating form this term, scoring 22 goals in just 15 league appearances, and four goals in nine appearances in European competition, and now wants a move to a club where he will be able to get international recognition with Brazil.

The 26-year-old is yet to get a cap for his country, and a move to the Reds looks to be edging closer, although the club’s latest £28 million is understood to have been rejected, while Jurgen Klopp could also face competition from Chelsea for the attacker’s signature.
