vs Southampton (A), May 1

City may not have conceded at home to Real Madrid on Tuesday night, but, without a lead to take to Spain, Manuel Pellegrini might be inclined to rest players at Southampton. The same policy brought a 4-0 win against Stoke last weekend, but the Saints are in decent nick and could cause the visitors problems.

vs Arsenal (H), May 8

Despite European commitments, and a potential final, City will look to ensure pole position to avoid next season’s Champions League qualifiers by beating Arsenal. The Gunners have been particularly unspectacular of late, and, if Pellegrini’s men show their class, there can surely be only one winner.

vs Swansea City (A), May 15

Again, City will be required to win in order to hold off Arsenal’s challenge for third, but they should have little difficulty in doing so against Swansea. Having reached the 40-point mark with a win against Chelsea in April, the Swans have taken their foot off the gas and are unlikely to make the most of their home advantage.
