Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a £35m deal to sign Croatia international winger Ivan Perisic, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who currently sit fifth in the top-flight standings following last Sunday’s 3-1 victory at Middlesbrough, have been heavily linked with luring the Inter Milan star to Old Trafford this summer.

The 28-year-old, who has 55 international caps for his country, has scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.

Perisic, who is also said to be attracting interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool, has netted 18 times in 70 games for Inter following his move from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg back in August 2015.

The report suggests that Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has jetted off to Croatia to push through a deal for the forward before his country’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ukraine tonight.
