Manchester United are just days away from their season-defining Europa League final against Ajax in Stockholm.

A win would not only add a new trophy to the cabinet at Old Trafford but could shape the summer business in Manchester, with Champions League football the real prize on offer for manager Jose Mourinho.

The former Chelsea boss is targeting a vast improvement next season and for that will need to be dining at Europe’s top table, something he seems fairly confident of given recent transfer reports.

According to French outlet CANAL+, the Red Devils are in advanced talks to land Champions League semifinalist and Ligue 1 champion Bernardo Silva from Monaco.

Leonardo Jardim’s side have been arguably the most exciting in Europe this season, but look set to be picked apart this summer as the established big boys ready themselves for a push next term.

Silva, who plays predominantly off the right-wing bagged 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions along the way to an historic season for the principality club, but has already hinted it could be his last on the French Riviera.

“I am finishing my third season in Monaco, who gave me the opportunity to play at a higher level,” Silva, who has been rated at up to £70m by some, told Portuguese TV (via Daily Express).

“But of course, every player dreams of playing for the best teams and in the best divisions one day.

“I’m no exception.”
