Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of sealing the £26.3m signing of Armenia international star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Ruhr Nachrichten (via the Daily Star).

The 13-time Premier League champions; who could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings last term, despite winning the 2016 FA Cup under former boss Louis Van Gaal last month, have been heavily linked with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder this summer.

9 December 2014 - Champion's League - Borussia Dortmund v RSC Anderlecht: Henrikh Mkhitaryan of Dortmund takes the ball past Anderlecht players Anthony Vanden Borre and Ibrahima Conte.

The 27-year-old, who has 59 international caps for his country, scored a remarkable 23 goals and provided 32 assists in 52 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.

Mkhitaryan, who has just 12 months remaining on his current deal with Dortmund, is set to sign a four-year deal at Old Trafford – worth £192,000-a-week – making him become one of the Red Devils’ top earners.

The Armenian ace will become new United manager Jose Mourinho’s second summer signing following the £30m arrival of Eric Bailly from Villarreal, meanwhile Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also due to join the ‘Special One’ at the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
