Captain Ashley Williams has been ever-present in Swansea City’s Premier League era.

Captain. Skipper. Leader. Swansea City fans’ ultimate Valentine’s Day date, Ashley Williams.

The 31-year-old; who has been at the Liberty Stadium since 2008, has been through thick and thin with the Swans throughout the past eight years, all the way from their League One title triumph to Premier League promotion.

Williams; who has 56 international caps for Wales, has scored one goal in all 25 league games for Francesco Guidolin’s men so far this season, netting the winner against Watford (1-0) only last month.

A man who leads by example; every game, the commanding centre-half has become Swansea fans’ firm favourite given his vital contribution to lifting the club from the third-tier of English football to the Promised Land within four campaigns.

Now with just over 340 first-team appearances under his belt; Williams is also fast becoming a legend at the Welsh outfit given his inspiring impact since arriving originally on loan from non-league Stockport County back in March 2008.

Officially the Swans’ most capped international; Williams has guided Swansea to qualify for the UEFA Europa League, led his team out at Wembley Stadium to win the 2013 League Cup and above all else, keep his beloved club in the Premier League for four consecutive campaigns.

Williams was instrumental under former manager Garry Monk during his first full season in charge of the Swans last term, featuring in all but one league fixture as his teammates went on to clinch a record-breaking campaign in which they finished in eighth place with 56 points.

Just to add to Swansea supporters’ admiration of their skipper; Williams has even made time to make a huge difference off the pitch as well, launching his own charity called ‘WillsWorld’ which helps under-privileged children in the community. Top bloke!
