Tottenham are reportedly closing in on a deal to offload Cameroon international forward Clinton N’Jie, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who travel to Everton on the opening day of the forthcoming 2016/17 English top-flight campaign, are on the verge of allowing the winger to join Marseille on loan.

The 22-year-old, who has 13 international caps for his country, provided just one assist and failed to score in 14 appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season.

N’Jie; who only arrived at White Hart Lane last August following his £8.3m switch from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, is set to join Marseille on loan for the forthcoming campaign, with a permanent £7m transfer already agreed.

The Cameroonian ace only signed a five-year deal with Tottenham last summer, but he failed to impress manager Mauricio Pochettino last term and his first-team opportunities were restricted.

It is also thought that N’Jie has turned down former club Lyon whilst on his way back to France, instead opting for top-flight rivals Marseille.
