Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Spain international Álvaro Domínguez Soto.

Despite already bringing in ten players during this summer transfer window, it seems Villans boss Tim Sherwood is in the market for another player – this time Borussia Monchengladbach defender Domínguez.

The 26-year-old, who has two international caps, made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.

However after surprisingly becoming surplus to requirements at the German club, Domínguez is thought to be available for around £5m, although the Premier League club face stiff competition from Serie A side Napoli for the Spaniard’s signature.

Surely this player is a left back, what we need is a right back and another goal scorer, then I think we should just use Gabby as an impact sub. Very interested in seeing how we go on Saturday, sadly even with Gill and Grealish in the team it just leaves Gestede as our main goal scorer, and if he is not fit or gets injured where does that leave us. Hoping I’m wrong.
