West Brom and West Ham will lead the bidding for Chris Smalling.

According to a report in The Sun the Manchester United defender is likely to be offloaded in the summer after falling out with Jose Mourinho.

Smalling has been at Old Trafford for seven seasons but is currently acting as back-up for Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones with other defenders likely to arrive in the close season.

Mourinho has questioned Smalling’s commitment a couple of times with the 27-year-old knowing that he has to move on to retain his international ambitions.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic would jump at the chance to bring the Fulham man back to London as he looks to reshape his defence.

At the Hawthorns Tony Pulis knows that he can’t rely on Gareth McAuley forever while a number of clubs are believed to be interested in Jonny Evans.

Smalling is under contract with United until 2019.
