2 January signings that will make Arsenal’s season

Isco’s future at Real Madrid has been speculated upon regularly over the past few months, and it might finally be decided this month.

The 24-year-old midfielder has seen his first team chances slowly reduce at the Bernabeu, albeit he did start their last three La Liga matches before the international break.

Nonetheless, he was back on the bench in Madrid’s 3-0 win over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, and a lack of regular first team football could tempt the Spanish international to move away this month.

Unsurprisingly, several Premier League sides have been linked with the midfielder, one of which being Arsenal, and Wenger should act fast to try and secure his signature over the coming weeks.

With the future of Mesut Ozil far from certain, Isco would be a potential replacement for the German international and, even if Ozil does indeed stay at the Emirates, Isco’s quality would not go amiss, either in a more advanced role or in a slightly deeper role, possibly as a replacement for Santi Cazorla should he leave this season.

Clearly, it’s a deal Wenger should get done as soon as possible.
