3 huge Championship clashes to keep an eye on this evening

This is another clash which will affect both ends of the table, as eighth place Preston entertain 21st place Bristol City at Deepdale.

Simon Grayson’s Lilywhites have responded brilliantly this term and are just six points adrift of the play-off places, all this after losing six of their opening eight games of the season back in August and September.

Since then though, Preston have lost just five of their 31 league games, only two of which have come at home, and they’ll be confident of keeping their play-off chase going against Lee Johnson’s Bristol City this evening.

The Robins lost 2-0 at Brentford to end their four-match unbeaten streak, and it leaves them just a point above the bottom three with seven games of the campaign remaining.

The season started so well for the Ashton Gate tenants, given that they were in the top six at the end of October, but just four wins in 24 games since then has plunged them into trouble, and only a return to their early season form will save Johnson’s men this term.

With just one away win in their last 15 league matches, and just three all season, it’s going to be a tough ask to get the all-important three points at Deepdale this evening.
