3 key battles as Liverpool host Manchester City on New Year’s Eve

Liverpool entertain Manchester City on New Year’s Eve as the Anfield showpiece brings down the curtain on an unforgettable 2016 in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have won their last three matches and go into Saturday’s encounter unbeaten at Anfield in the league since a 1-0 loss at home to Manchester United on January 17.

Since then, they have recorded ten wins and six draws from their 16 matches at home, one of which includes a 3-0 win over Saturday’s opponents earlier this year.
