Manchester United could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to Hull City on Wednesday night to hinder their chances of making the Premier League’s top four.

Jose Mourinho’s men won six straight games at the end of 2016 to get themselves back into contention, but three successive draws has seen them lose ground on the top four, and indeed dent their hopes of returning to the Champions League next season.

Mourinho’s men travel to champions Leicester on Sunday hoping to get a much-needed victory which could put them to within a point of fourth place Liverpool.

The Red Devils have won 11 of their 23 league games this term, but nine draws, the most alongside Middlesbrough, could be their undoing come May.

United’s struggles back in October and November prompted many to believe that Mourinho needed to strengthen his squad to reel in the top four, and potentially get themselves back into title contention.

However, there were no incomings at Old Trafford last month, despite several quality players being linked with a move to Old Trafford, so here are THREE massive signings they missed out on in the winter window…
