Slaven Bilic led West Ham to a seventh-place finish in last season’s Premier League but, based on what’s happened so far this time around, it doesn’t look like the Hammers will be replicating that finish.
Bilic’s men currently sit 16th in the Premier League following a 2-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday, their sixth defeat of the campaign.
This disappointing result at Goodison Park succeeded a fruitful spell for the Hammers, who beat Crystal Palace and Sunderland in the league before overcoming Chelsea in the League Cup last week.
Their tally of ten points from ten matches sees them just three points clear of the bottom three, although that could become two if Swansea win at Stoke on Monday night.
Unsurprisingly, West Ham’s early season woes have led to increased speculation about who Bilic may look to sign in the January transfer window as he attempts to move his side away from the relegation zone.
