Believes he is the right man

Clearly, Wenger still believes that he is the right man to take Arsenal forward, even if they appear to have been going backwards in the last few years.

The Gunners have improved their league position over the last three seasons from fourth in 2013 and 2014 to third in 2015, and then second last time out.

Add in two FA Cup successes in their last three campaigns, as well as back-to-back Community Shields, and Wenger has achieved more in the last few years than the preceding eight, and he could still go on and win silverware this season as well.

Wenger has come back from adversity before, and there’s no reason to suggest why he can’t do it again.
