Leicester’s Jamie Vardy would have to go some to reproduce last season’s form this time around, but he looks a shadow of the player that helped inspire the Foxes to the Premier League title.

The 29-year-old has been dropped from the starting line-up in two of Leicester’s last three Premier League matches, and his second half appearance against West Brom on Sunday stretched his goalless streak to 13 matches for club and country.

His energy and pace could be a huge asset to England, but he needs to back that up with goals, and two league goals so far this season is not good enough.

With Jermain Defoe and Charlie Austin finding the net regularly for Sunderland and Southampton respectively, Vardy is lucky to make this squad.
