Manchester United managed a 1-1 draw against FC Rostov on Thursday night in the first leg of their last 16 clash in the Europa League.
Manager Jose Mourinho was far from happy with the state of the pitch in southern Russia, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan netted a vital away goal ten minutes before half time to give the Red Devils an advantage going into next week’s return leg at Old Trafford.
Although Mourinho’s men did concede an equaliser eight minutes into the second period, the United boss will be pretty satisfied to take a draw back to Manchester, where they’ll fully expect to get the job done next week.
Despite United still being in the race for the top four, as well as the last 16 of the Europa League and last eight of the FA Cup, speculation has already begun about potential incomings and outgoings in the summer.
And one potential outgoing could be striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has netted 26 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils this term.
The Swedish star has been linked with a move to the MLS, and if he does indeed leave the club in the summer, it would leave a huge void which would certainly need filling.
