3 reasons why league leaders Chelsea will beat champions Leicester this evening

Get at Leicester’s backline

It’s been no secret that Leicester have been considerably worse defensively this season in comparison to last time out, and it’s something that Chelsea will surely exploit this evening.

The champions have conceded 31 goals already this season, just five less than their tally for the entirety of last year’s campaign, with Robert Huth and Wes Morgan underperforming at centre-back, and full-backs Danny Simpson and Christian Fuchs not having great seasons either.

And, against a Blues frontline consisting of the outstanding Eden Hazard, the in-form Pedro, and the lethal Diego Costa, Leicester could be in trouble.

They’ve defended better at home than they have away, conceding just ten times thus far, but Chelsea have been rampant at times this season, and if Costa can draw both centre-backs in, there could be space for both Hazard and Pedro to get in behind.

The Foxes defended poorly in their 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge back in October – a repeat of that this evening will see Chelsea get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
